Free airport lounge access with Trip.com

We cover Trip.com quite regularly for their promotions, and today I think it’s worth giving their loyalty program a quick look.

You can read about their loyalty program here. There are four membership tiers and you move up after making a certain number of bookings. Their elite status is easily attainable but the benefits aren’t great. They do however, hand out free airport lounge passes which many may find useful.

  • Make 3 bookings annually to achieve Platinum, and get 1 lounge pass
  • Make 8 bookings annually to achieve Diamond, and get 2 lounge passes

It appears that all kinds of bookings count, whether they are for flight, train, hotel, attraction or even UK railcard. Booking 5 or 8 times in a year should be quite easy.

The lounge pass can be redeemed when you book a flight on Trip.com:

So it can only be issued with a flight purchased on Trip.

For those who don’t have a credit card that offers lounge membership, it’s an easy and effortless way to score one or two free lounge passes.

On a related note: their in-app flight discount has proven to be so successful that Trip has decided it’s too costly. They quietly added a new clause in their terms, and you can now use the discount only 3 times per calendar year.
