All Plus China promotion, new Hilton credit card

Some news on hotel loyalty programs in the China market.

Accor

An update on the All Plus China program, which earns you up to 50 status nights with Accor. If you’ve purchased the card and have trips to China planned soon, here’s a new promotion:

  • Book by September 30th
  • Stay by October 10th
  • Book using a discount voucher (30%, 40% or 50% off) from All Plus China in Wechat
  • Enjoy free breakfast for two or suite upgrade

A dozen of high-end hotels are participating in cities include Shanghai, Xi’an and Hangzhou. Check Accor’s Wechat mini-program for more details.

Hilton

After with Currensea in the UK, Hilton has launched a new co-branded bank card in China too.

The card is issued in partnership with Bank of Communications and Mastercard. Some basic information about the credit card:

  • Two versions: Platinum (basic) and World (premium)
  • Annual fee: 488 CNY (£53) / 1,000 CNY (£109)
  • Comes with complimentary Hilton Honors Silver or Gold status
  • Upgrade to Gold or Diamond status after hitting spend target
  • Quarterly rewards including free night voucher

It is similar to the Currensea card in some ways: comparable annual fee and complimentary Hilton status. The earning rate is weaker, but what makes the product very interesting is the quarterly rewards, if you can earn the free night voucher.

Unlike IHG, Marriott and Hyatt, Hilton’s free night voucher is uncapped and can be redeemed at any Hilton property in the world, easily worth more than 200,000 Hilton points.

The card follows Mastercard’s new “Touch Card” design concept – the square notch indicates that it’s a credit card.
