withBanyan
Banyan Group officially launched its own loyalty programme, withBanyan, in July this year. Membership is free, and members can enjoy discounted room rates and other benefits across brands such as Banyan Tree, Angsana and Dhawa.
There are four membership tiers in total. Since the group isn’t particularly large, the qualification requirements aren’t especially demanding when measured by nights.
The entry-level membership already comes with 10% off room rates and a welcome drink, while higher tiers add benefits such as room upgrades, early check-in and late checkout.
Banyan Group also has a partnership with Accor. If I understand the terms correctly, the benefits from the two programmes don’t conflict with each other. That said, if you already have Accor Platinum status, it feels like most of the withBanyan benefits are already covered anyway (if booked through Accor channels).
The main highlight today is their partnership with Visa.
- Available to Visa Infinite cardholders in Asia-Pacific
- Registration required, limited to 1,000 members
- Complete two nights within 12 months of registration
- Receive withBanyan Explorer status plus one complimentary night voucher
The free night voucher must be used for a stay by 31 July 2027. The participating properties are listed on the promotion page and mainly include Angsana, Angsana Corfu, Dhawa, Garrya and Homm properties. Only one Banyan Tree property is currently included: Banyan Tree Puebla in Mexico. If you’re looking purely at cash rates, Angsana Corfu in Greece is probably the most expensive option.
According to Banyan Group’s website, holders of the even more premium Visa Infinite Private or Visa Infinite Privilege cards don’t even need to complete the two-night stay. They can apparently receive the complimentary night voucher and Voyager membership directly.
榕行卡 Rongxing Card
Banyan Group also has a China-specific product called the Rongxing Card, and there’s currently a limited-time promotion running until 16 August, so let’s take a quick look. You can scan the following QR code using Wechat to access the landing page in their Wechat mini-program.
The Rongxing Card has two versions.
悦享 Yuexiang:
- RMB 300 discount
- Promotional price: RMB 1,588
- 2 complimentary nights: 1 general voucher + 1 select voucher
奢享 Shexiang:
- RMB 600 discount
- Promotional price: RMB 3,088
- 4 complimentary nights: 2 general vouchers + 2 select vouchers
The free night vouchers can be booked up to 90 days in advance. In addition, you get 50% off room vouchers, dining and spa discount, plus exclusive breakfast price of RMB 198 for two people, amongst other benefits.
Both versions also come with complimentary withBanyan Explorer status.
The general vouchers can be redeemed at most Banyan Group properties in mainland China, including Banyan Tree hotels.
The select vouchers can be used at non-Banyan-Tree brands in the group.
If you have a trip to China planned, the Rongxing Card is worth considering as the free night vouchers already pay off the card fee easily. You also get withBanyan Explorer membership which is valid globally.
The promotion ends in just three days, after which the price will be reverted. The card is valid for 365 days after purchase, and as long as you haven’t used any benefit you can request a refund.
