Cathay Pacific has been celebrating its 80th anniversary with one promotion after another, and there’s now another one: the “80th AnnFAREsary”:
- Booking window: 14 August to 27 August
- Travel window: 10 September to 10 December
- Valid for Economy and Premium Economy cabin classes
- Receive 800 miles back for every 5,000 miles redeemed
- Rebate capped at 80,000 Asia Miles
- All routes are eligible, including one-way, return and open-jaw itineraries
- Itineraries with transits are not eligible
The terms are fairly generous, with the entire Cathay network included (note that partner redemptions are excluded).
There are two catches, though. First, Business Class isn’t eligible, making it less useful for long-haul flights. Second, your itinerary must start or end at Hong Kong, so make sure you don’t accidentally book a connecting itinerary.
In effect, you’re getting an 16% redemption rebate, and the 80,000-mile rebate cap is high enough that most people are unlikely to hit it.
