Cathay Pacific has always run frequent mileage promotions, and with its 80th anniversary this year, there’s a new campaign – don’t forget to grab some free miles!
There are six missions for you to complete.
- Mission 1: Members will receive a one-off bonus 300 miles upon completing one eligible miles-earning or miles redemption transaction.
- Mission 2: Members will receive a one-off bonus 1,000 miles upon completing eligible miles-earning or miles redemption transactions across two or more categories.
- Mission 3: Members will receive a one-off bonus 800 miles upon accumulated earnings of 8,000 miles or more through our payment partners.
- Mission 4: Members will receive a one-off bonus 1,000 miles upon accumulated earnings of 8,000 miles or more with travel and lifestyle partners.
- Mission 5: Members will receive a one-off bonus of 1,200 miles upon successfully redeeming 8,000 miles or more.
- Mission 6: Members will receive a one-off bonus of 80 miles upon successfully completing the “80” treasure hunt in the Asia Miles by Cathay app.
If you’re just looking to game it with minimal real spending, focus on Mission 1, 5 and 6. Mission 1 is very straightforward, and Mission 2 requires two different categories, for example:
- Flight: Cathay and partner airlines
- Travel: Marriott & IHG
- Payment: co-branded or partner credit cards
I haven’t quite figured out how the treasure hunt works, but I assume you need to find some easter eggs in the Asia Miles app at certain time.
Also, after logging into the app, I noticed another Appventure promotion: enable push notifications and complete one mileage-earning activity before 30 April to get an extra 500 miles.
Putting it together, Tasks 1 / 5 / 6 plus the Appventure bonus can net you 1,880 miles quite easily. If you don’t mind a bit of effort, it’s worth picking up. And if you already have plans to say redeem miles, you can earn even more on top.
