Melia is going to run (another) points sale soon, which can be quite interesting.
As you can see in the Offers & Promotions sections on this page, between 1 September and 31 October you will get 40% bonus on the points purchased. There’s no minimum purchase required and the maximum you can buy is 150,000 points. Note that the promotion is not live yet.
The standard price of Melia points is €5 for 1,000 points, which works out at €3.57 per 1,000 points instead with this promotion. This promotion, although not historically the best , is still a great deal – if you ever stay at any Melia hotels, you can exchange 1,000 points for €5 credit towards your room bill.
Melia’s strongest presence is in Spain. Below is an example I’ve used many times: with this promotion you could book a half-board package at Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora for around €156, which is a very good discount compared to the cash price.
You could also find similar deals in New York, UK and many other European countries.
Melia points don’t expire as long as there’s any activity within rolling 12-month period.
