Tempting Etihad Europe-Asia sale, business return from £1,100

The Middle Eastern airlines are struggling quite hard at the moment due to the conflict, and travel between Europe and Asia has suddenly become much more uncertain. A few days ago, when casually searching for flights, I noticed that itineraries via the Middle East were unusually cheap, on a completely different level compared to other routes. And today, well, Etihad Airways has basically gone all-in and released a batch of seriously attractive business class fares!

There are some sample fares on the official website, and combined with my searches on Google Flights, here are a few return fare examples:

  • Paris – Beijing: £1,298
  • London – Hong Kong: £1,332
  • London – Taipei: £1,246
  • London – Maldives: £1,503
  • London – Melbourne: £2,500
  • Manchester – Singapore: £1,258
  • Madrid – Singapore: £1,168
  • Dublin – Kuala Lumpur: £1,230

These fares mainly cover travel from April to June, including some options over Easter. For example, London–Hong Kong from 2 April to 14 April:

Paris – Beijing: 2 April to 14 April:

Madrid – Singapore: 21 May to 2 June

One thing to note: the cheapest “Business Value” fares do not include free seat selection or access to business class lounges.

There’s no denying how good these prices are – return business class from London to Asia for just over £1,000 has basically disappeared since the pandemic. In the meantime, it goes without saying what risks are involved to book such itineraries, so proceed with caution.
