Iberia’s award ticket promotion is back again:
- Book by 26 January
- Travel by 24 March
- Up to 40% off Avios tickets
- Valid on flights operated by Iberia / Iberia Express / Air Nostrum
For the list of participating destinations, please refer to the promotion page. It states that the offer is limited to members who received direct email communications, but the promotion page itself is open to all, so you can log in and search to see whether discounts show up. What’s rather absurd is that the terms in the email I received are completely different, but the rules listed on the promotion page are likely the correct ones.
The actual discount varies by route and cabin class. I tried a few routes:
- London / Athens / Dakar: Economy 20% / Business 20%
- Doha: Economy 40% / Business 10%
- New York: Economy 40%
- Dallas: Economy 20% / Business 10%
- Bogotá: Economy 20% / Premium Economy 20% / Business 20%
The main focus is, of course, long-haul business class, but unfortunately the discounts aren’t as generous as in previous rounds, and award availability is limited. If you have rigid travel needs, it’s worth taking a look.
