Earn free Alaska miles in a few clicks

If you are interested in collecting Alaska Airlines miles, here’s an offer that you shouldn’t miss out.

In short, Alaska Airlines is apparently sponsoring the new season of women’s American football in the US. The campaign comes in five versions, each tied to a different team:

The mechanics are simple: your Alaska account address needs to be within a 75-mile radius of that team’s designated market. Each promo page lists the eligible zip codes. For every goal that team scores this season, you earn 100 bonus miles. I had a quick look and the season appears to last from August to November.

Sound familiar? That’s because Delta has run a similar deal “12 Status” for years with the Seattle Seahawks, and many of us “relocate” to Seattle each autumn, cheer on the team, and quietly pocket 4,000+ miles for our trouble.

Now Alaska’s copying the playbook, and I wouldn’t mind a temporary move to California either. The sweet spot here: San Diego Wave FC and SDFC are both based in San Diego, and LA Galaxy isn’t far away. Their 75-mile circles overlap quite a bit (for example, zip 92003), meaning you could register for three teams at once. A couple dozen goals across the season easily adds up to a few thousand free miles.

Once you pick a qualifying zip code, just drop a random apartment address from Google Maps into your profile and you’re set.

That’s it: “move in,” register, and then sit back while the miles roll in. Alaska’s loyalty program was just rebranded as Atmos, but their miles remain highly useful.
