Last week we wrote about Westin Fiji’s sneaky deal which turns out to a possible error. Reservation is all closed now with Marriott saying the hotel doesn’t have an opening date yet. We don’t know what will happen to existing reservations.
Also undergoing refurbishment is the W Maldives, which is set to reopen soon in May. According to Marriott’s calendar, redemption is priced roughly as follows:
- May – September: 80,500 points
- October – December: 85,000 points
- January onwards: 97,000 point+
Standard redemption books you into a 146sqm Superior Overwater Villa, and you can also pay more points for other room types.
Maldives isn’t my thing but the deal looks solid. Note that although breakfast is complimentary for Platinum members and above, you’ll need to pay roughly $700 per person for seaplane transfer.
