LHW selling points with 100% bonus

LHW is running a new sale on their points, basically a replica of their end-of-year promotion last year. Until September 27, you’ll get the following bonus when buying LHW points:

• 2,000 – 11,000 points: 50%
• 12,000 – 29,000 points: 75%
• 30,000 – 50,000 points: 100%

The original price is $120 per 1K points, so at the top end you’ll be paying $60 instead.

As we’ve discussed last time, LHW has a semi-revenue-based redemption system where you usually get ~$80 per 1K points spent. That’s roughly a 25% discount when you buy and pay with points.

There are occasional hotels where you get better value:

• Imperial Hotel Tokyo, $613 / 4,301 points ($142)
• Hotel J Shanghai, $717 / 7,127 points ($100)

Note that you must spend at least $3,600 to get the 100% bonus, and LHW doesn’t have many hotels. I wouldn’t encourage you to purchase unless you have very specific redemption cases in mind.
