United has been making a lot of adjustment to their redemption system recently, leading to one glitch or two – and another one has just been dug out.

For comparison, the full price is 50,000+ miles and 200,000 miles respectively. More cities including some insane routing from SFO were available earlier, but BOS seems to be your best bet now.
You can reduce the cost even further through United’s Excursionist Perk. Add one Japan domestic flight before and after this itinerary, and whole ticket costs only 10,000 miles.
