A quick word on Badazhou’s summer promotion, which is ending soon. If you’re not already a member, don’t forget to scan the QR code below with Wechat and pick up a complimentary Silver membership first.
The headline offer is the Gold fast track promotion:
- Register via the promotion page between 6-8 August
- Book any preferred partner rate 专享价
- Complete your stay by 31 August
- After the stay, you’ll receive trial Gold status valid through the end of the year
The benefits of trial Gold status are fairly limited, but given how low the barrier is, it’s worth registering anyway. You’ll earn more Badazhou points for your stays with the Gold status.
Yesterday I received an email from Qatar Airways announcing a new promotion. They’ve launched a recurring Monthly Award Flight Offers campaign, with selected award tickets available at 25% off. Let’s take a look.
For the very first edition, bookings must be made by 14 August, with travel completed by 30 September. The participating routes are as follows (all prices are one-way between the listed city and Doha):
Business Class
- Riyadh: 14,000 → 10,500 Avios
- Cairo: 26,000 → 19,500 Avios
- Columbus: 35,000 → 26,250 Avios
- Berlin: 43,000 → 32,250 Avios
- Warsaw: 43,000 → 32,250 Avios
- Jakarta: 60,000 → 45,000 Avios
Economy Class
- Riyadh: 7,000 → 5,250 Avios
- Amman: 13,000 → 9,750 Avios
- Larnaca: 17,500 → 13,125 Avios
- Munich: 21,500 → 16,125 Avios
- Geneva: 21,500 → 16,125 Avios
The real highlights are the Business Class awards. Being an Avios airline, Qatar Airways already offers much more attractive award pricing than British Airways on many routes, and knocking another 25% off makes these redemptions exceptionally good value.
One thing to watch out for is that Qatar has two award fare types. Once the standard award inventory is gone, only Flexi Awards remain. These cost double the Avios and are not eligible for the promotion.
For example, Berlin to Warsaw via Doha prices at just 32,250 Avios + €158 in Business Class. Availability is currently pretty decent too.
What’s even more interesting is that the discount isn’t limited to nonstop flights. As long as either your origin or destination is one of the participating cities, connecting itineraries via Doha also qualify – and the entire itinerary receives the 25% discount.
Guangzhou – Doha – Warsaw:
Berlin – Doha – Guangzhou
It’s actually cheaper than booking through British Airways even with a Companion Voucher, and the Doha – Guangzhou sector is operated with Qsuite.
