A couple of days ago, Zaozao’s hotel tracking tool has picked up what looks to be a widespread Marriott Bonvoy award devaluation.
Many of Marriott’s most popular redemption properties around the world have seen their award prices increase. Here are a few examples:
- The London EDITION: 107,000 → 115,000 points
- Le Méridien Etoile, Paris: 61,000 → 64,000 points
- Courtyard Paris Porte de Versailles: 49,000 → 52,000 points
- The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon: 106,000 → 109,000 points
- W Osaka: 55,000 → 58,000 points
- The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto: 122,000 → 128,000 points
- The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong: 124,000 → 127,000 points
- The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands: 168,000 → 176,000 points
- W Shanghai The Bund: 56,000 → 58,000 points
- The Ritz-Carlton, Nanjing: 42,000 → 45,000 points
- The Sanya EDITION: 58,000 → 61,000 points
- JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa: 57,000 → 60,000 points
- W Bangkok: 33,000 → 35,000 points
- The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok: 32,000 → 37,000 points
- The New York EDITION: 109,000 → 113,000 points
As Marriott now uses dynamic award pricing, the figures above should only be treated as indicative examples rather than fixed redemption rates.
That said, this clearly isn’t just a case of seasonal fluctuations or isolated date adjustments. It appears to be a broad increase affecting many of Marriott’s most sought-after redemption hotels around the world.
Thankfully, the increases are relatively modest – for now. Still, points inflation is almost inevitable over the long run. If you’ve been sitting on a large Bonvoy balance and have a good redemption opportunity, it’s probably worth booking sooner rather than later.

Thanks for covering this. I also noticed increased points pricing for several reservations I booked for 2027. Thankfully, I’ve burned through most of Marriott points stash and only keep enough for topping off certificates.
