Attention Lufthansa Senators: the Lufthansa Group officially announced its new logo and branding strategy a couple of days ago, and along with it launched a matching flight challenge with very generous rewards.
You’ll need to download the Miles & More app to register. On the home page under My Challenge, the LH Group challenge should appear, though it’s unclear whether everyone is eligible or if different versions exist.
Once registered, you have three months to complete the challenge:
- Fly on different airlines within the Lufthansa Group
- Flying 3 / 5 / 7 different airlines will earn you 5,000 / 35,000 / 60,000 bonus miles
- The maximum reward is 100,000 miles
The terms aren’t very detailed. For example, the exact activity window and whether registering later gives you more time are unclear. Based on the wording, award tickets likely don’t count. They count by flight segment, so a round-trip with different airlines counts as two.
The Lufthansa Group currently includes nine airlines:
- Lufthansa
- Lufthansa City
- Swiss
- Austrian
- Brussels Airlines
- ITA Airways
- Eurowings
- Air Dolomiti
- Discover Airlines
Ignoring the last two, the first seven have extremely dense European networks, so completing the challenge isn’t difficult. For example, a route like London – Frankfurt – Vienna – Brussels – London could theoretically check off up to four airlines in one trip.
Lufthansa miles are very useful lately, but ways to earn them are limited, so being able to pick up to 100k miles for a few hundred pounds is a great deal – I’m honestly tempted myself!
