Free night and dining discount in Asia with Club Marriott

I struggle to understand why, but most of the major hotel chains try or tried to establish a special membership scheme in Asia. I’m sure you know Accor Plus, which has proven successful and is still going strong with a lot of interest especially after the introduction of the annual 20 status night credit benefit.

In contrast, Hilton, IHG and Marriott made similar efforts which all have, well, got much less traction. I didn’t realise until recently that Marriott’s program is still alive, and it could be interesting to some readers.

The program is called Club Marriott. If you are familiar with Accor Plus, the way it works is very similar.

  • Over 350 hotels in Asia participate, from countries like China, Japan, Thailand, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia
  • You usually need to enrol via a particular participating hotel
  • With the membership it comes with a welcome package, including free night voucher, BOGO voucher and dining vouchers etc, which can only be used at that hotel, or hotels in the same country
  • In addition, there are universal benefits at all participating hotels, mostly room rate and dining discount

You can use the dedicated code MZ7 and look for the Club Marriott rate when booking a hotel:

For dining, remember that you also earn Marriott points in Asia Pacific even when not staying. There was a dining discount for all Marriott members as well although it seems to be limited to Greater China only now.

The regular perks of the Club Marriott membership isn’t hugely rewarding, but the free night voucher and dining vouchers in the welcome pack may well more than cover the cost already. If you are looking to stay at one of the participating hotels, it won’t hurt enquiring about Club Marriott details.

    Hi Kai
What is the price for the membership?
Does different hotel offer different price, for example Sheraton vs St Regis? Or after buying 1 package, we can use in all listed hotel?

Also, do you think buying this worth the price with 1 night free stay + buffet voucher?

    Thanks

      – I don’t have the prices at hand, but I believe it depends on the country where you buy it in, not the individual hotel
      – As written in the article, there are hotel-exclusive and universal benefits
