SAS Eurobonus has launched an award sale for flights from/to the USA:
- Book by September 22
- Travel in November
- 30% off all redemptions
After discount, a one-way flight from US to Europe costs:
- Economy – 21,000 points + $5
- Premium Economy – 28,000 points + $5
- Business – 35,000 points + $5
SAS doesn’t have any carrier imposed surcharge which is a very rare merit hardly seen on any other European airline. Taxes are a bit higher from Europe but still more than reasonable: for Copenhagen it quotes £38.6.
SAS flies from Copenhagen and Stockholm to New York, Boston, Washington DC, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
It is a, without any doubt, an incredibly attractive deal. The main hurdle is however where to get SAS points, and you have just few days to figure it out.
As far as I know, the only major transfer partner is Amex UK. The usual suspects like Amex US, Chase and Marriott are all excluded.
