SAS EuroBonus again – they have brought back the status match offer, although unfortunately most readers probably won’t be eligible this time.
The promotion is restricted to residents of India and supports elite members from:
- Air India
- British Airways
- Lufthansa
- Emirates
- Qatar Airways
- Turkish Airlines
- United Airlines
Eligible members can match into the following tiers for a fee:
- Silver: €39
- Gold: €79
- Diamond: €159
On paper, that’s actually a very attractive deal. The pricing is reasonable, and SAS elite status gives benefits including seat selection, priority check-in & boarding, extra baggage allowance and lounge access across SkyTeam.
The problem, of course, is the residency requirement. If you enjoy experimenting, you could always try changing your IP address and see whether the system lets you through, although I wouldn’t be particularly optimistic.
What I find more surprising is that this promotion is targeted specifically at the Indian market. SAS currently serves only Mumbai in India.

They ask lot of screenshots before matching so won’t be able to fake it
