New year, new beginnings, and Hilton’s Gold and Diamond status match / challenge for corporate clients is back!
This year, I’ve seen two versions of the offer:
- Receive 90 days of Gold status as a trial
- Stay 5 nights to retain Gold
- Stay 10 nights to upgrade to Diamond
- Receive 120 days of Diamond status as a trial
- Stay 8 nights to retain Gold
- Stay 16 nights to retain Diamond
You must register by the end of this year. Once registered, the trial period and challenge start immediately. Both paid stays and reward stays count.
If you complete the challenge, the retained or earned status will be valid through 31 March 2028, so it’s a great time to secure two years of status. Interestingly, the Diamond challenge has a significantly higher requirement than the Gold one, with the obvious upside being four months of Diamond benefits upfront.
If you’re eligible, simply enter your corporate email address on the promotion page and confirm via the verification email. There was a loophole earlier where a Gmail address would work for the Gold match, but that’s now fixed.
Below is a partial list of companies that, based on my personal testing, appear to be eligible for the Diamond match:
- Apple
- Amazon
- Cisco
- Salesforce
- Microsoft
- Oracle
- IBM
- Huawei
- ByteDance
- Deloitte
- KPMG
- Honeywell
- PwC
- Shell
- P&G
- Dell
- Samsung
- Walmart
Hilton elite status is highly valuable. Gold is widely regarded as the best mid-tier status among major hotel groups, with complimentary breakfast across all brands, room upgrades and late checkout. Diamond mainly adds executive lounge access.
If you are currently a Diamond member, you could enrol in the Gold match program and after 10 nights stayed in the next 90 days, your Diamond status will be extended – this is what I understand from the FAQ.
If you don’t have an eligible corporate email but do hold elite status with another hotel group, you can still join Hilton’s public status match + challenge. It’s similar to the Gold match above, but slightly less attractive, requiring 6 nights or 12 nights respectively.
