Accor triple points & Platinum trick, cheap Marriott points

[Marriott]

China’s Ping An E-wallet currently has a 100% conversion bonus to Marriott. Under the offer you will be paying roughly 0.045 CNY / 0.61c per Marriott point which is a very respectable deal.

As you can transfer Marriott points to most airline miles at 60,000 : 25,000, you can also buy those miles indirectly at 0.108 CNY / 1.47c per mile. For United the ratio is enhanced to 60,000 : 30,000, reducing the cost to only 0.09 CNY / 1.22c per mile.

As we’ve explained last time, the purchasing process is rather complex so only proceed if you know someone in China who can help.

[Accor]

A new bonus points winter offer:

  • Valid for stays in select countries of Europe, Middle East and West Asia
  • Book by Feb 26
  • Stay between Jan 17 and Mar 31
  • Earn 2x points, or 3x points if you are an ALL Plus holder
  • Minimum 2-night stay required and it can be redeemed three times

An interesting development of the All Plus China scheme that has been discussed widely and seemingly confirmed by one of our readers: the night credit accrued from the scheme should be capped at 30, but if you buy two Suprem cards now it appears you’ll get 50 night credits.

As I have no idea if that’s intentional I wouldn’t firmly encourage you to do so. I’ve read more about the scheme lately, and although they have a very generous refund policy, cancellation involves talking to their customer service over the phone or via online chat.

Thanks! As I said it’s near impossible for foreigners so wouldn’t encourage you to spend time on it.
