Black Friday: Aegean & Eurail pass sale, 50% off UK trains

A few more UK- and Europe-oriented Black Friday sales.

[Aegean]

The Greek airline Aegean is running a good sale:

  • Book on November 29 only
  • Travel window: January 13 to October 25
  • Save up to 70%

I see some solid fares, although they are nothing near 70% off. The discount is loaded in the reservation system directly so accessible to OTAs. You can, for example, stack it with Trip’s £50 voucher.

[UK Train]

We mentioned the other day that there are some EU train offers on Trip’s UK site. If you are looking to travel in the UK, there are couple of offers on the US site: you get 50% off when buying LNER and Northern Rail tickets.

[Europe Train Pass]

If you are looking to travel to / within Europe, Interrail and Eurail are doing 25% off their global passes which can be used across the whole Europe. You can pick the number of the days and cabin class to build your pass, and there’s further reduction for under 27 years old.

The offer is active on Interrail’s and Eurail’s websites, as well as their official partners such as Trip.com and Klook – compare the prices as the gap might be significant. If you are a UK or European resident you should purchase Interrail, and otherwise Eurail.

You can use the pass to travel on Eurostar as well, although additional booking fee is applicable. Say that you buy a four-day Interrail pass and then book a return trip, the cost would be:

  • Standard: €213+€30+€30=€273
  • Standard Premier: €270+€38+€38=€346

Which could be cheaper than outright last minute tickets. If you live outside London, the pass is valid on your connecting journeys too.
