Having spent a long weekend in in the south of France I’m going back to London on BA’s Avios ticket. Nice is a very popular tourist destination and the airport is big-ish, but it’s not a hub and no airline runs their own lounge here. There are however plenty of contract lounges, and I’m reviewing the Canopy Lounge at Terminal 1.
The Canopy lounge is in the non-Schengen zone, after passport control.
The lounge is used by Oneworld, Star Alliance and Priority Pass. The indoor area is quite spacious with some reserved seats.
There’s a brighter and prettier-designed terrace area as well.
In which there are some beach chairs to help you keep the summer for a bit longer.
Although we are not at the beach, it’s still south France and the heat is real! It’s about 30 degrees outside and the terrace feels pretty warm not being close enough to the air conditioners.
In terms of catering, there are plenty of alcoholic drinks to choose from.
Food-wise however it is very disappointing. Most of the time there are only nuts, olives, cheese and cold cuts.
It was presumably dinner time finally when I was leaving and they started to serve “proper food”. That is soup, small pizza slices and salad.
To wrap it up, it is a pleasant lounge to kill some time in, but don’t expect good food.
