Somehow Lufthansa’s marketing department believes they need to be really aggressive in the last quarter of 2024. They’ve launched a few offers, some unusual.
[Hyatt]
Hyatt had a double-dip promotion with Etihad at the beginning of this year, and this one is similar.
- Register by October 16
- Stay between September 15 and October 31
- Earn 1,000 Miles & More miles per qualifying stay
Note that it is a “per-stay” offer, so works best on one-nighters, and award stays count too.
As the miles are on top of your usual Hyatt points earning, you should definitely register even if you don’t collect Lufthansa miles at all.
[IHG]
- Register and book by November 30
- Stay by December 31
- Earn 5X Miles and More miles on your stays
Unlike the Hyatt offer, for IHG you must change your earning preference accordingly, to Miles and More instead of IHG points. Therefore the offer only makes sense if you are a Lufthansa collector and the maths work out.
You usually earn 2 miles per $ spent with few exceptions, and under this offer it becomes 10 miles. It is actually much more valuable than the 10 IHG points you’d earn otherwise (without elite bonus), and there isn’t currently a quarterly IHG bonus promotion, so a thing to consider.
