Royal Jordanian launched a status match promotion earlier this week, which is a new fast track route to Oneworld elite status.
Some details:
- Open to residents of UK plus certain European and Middle East countries
- Silver Jay (Ruby) and Gold Sparrow (Sapphire) are open for match
- An application fee of $49 / $149 applies respectively
- Eligible airlines include Virgin Atlantic, Air France, Lufthansa, SAS, Turkish, Emirates, Etihad and more
- Eligible hotels include Hilton, IHG, Accor, Marriott, Hyatt, Wyndham, GHA and more
The interesting part is they accept hotel programs too. They have however, added a new restriction that you can only match to Silver Jay with a hotel membership, just one day after the promotion started. Refer to their FAQ page for the eligible countries and status match chart.
A couple of comments from some readers:
- Their registration page has a strange requirement: first and last names much contain at least three characters. A workaround is to sign up on mobile and add spaces after your name.
- You need to pay the fee when submitting an application. Should your application fail however, you can email their customer service for a refund and/or raise a dispute
- Accepted proof of residency include passport, driving license and residence permit
Main Oneworld Ruby benefits include business class check-in, priority boarding and free / discounted seat selection. For Sapphire, add extra baggage allowance, fast track security and lounge access to the list.
