A couple of days ago I wrote about Marriott’s new partnership with Japan Airlines, which lets you claim oneworld Ruby status and a handful of lounge passes.
Another long-standing Marriott airline partner is Emirates. From time to time, the two run promotions offering bonus Marriott points simply for linking your accounts. I just received an email about the latest one, and it’s worth registering if you’re eligible.

- Earn 5,000 Marriott points after your first eligible paid stay
Interestingly, the terms make almost no mention of Emirates at all. There doesn’t even seem to be a requirement to link your Marriott and Emirates accounts beforehand.
Based on the wording, my guess is that this is a targeted promotion rather than a public offer, so there’s no guarantee everyone will be able to register. Still, it only takes a minute to check, so it’s well worth trying.
As luck would have it, I’m currently staying at a Sheraton, so I’ll happily take the extra 5,000 Marriott points – a nice little rebate is always welcome.
