Last year, Lufthansa launched a free status match for ITA Airways members, and it was hugely popular. After it ended, they shifted their focus to matching with British Airways and Iberia. Now, as ITA Airways’ current frequent flyer programme is approaching its shutdown, the free match is back again – don’t miss it!

- ITA Airways Premium and Executive members can match to Lufthansa Senator
- No fee applies
- You can also match from British Airways or Iberia, but it costs €99
- Status is valid until February 2027

IF you are asked for proof of residency, documents like a passport or a local driving licence are accepted.
Lufthansa Senator status corresponds to Star Alliance Gold. When flying with alliance airlines (such as Lufthansa Group carriers, Air China, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, ANA, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines, etc.), you’ll enjoy benefits like priority check-in and boarding, extra baggage allowance, fast-track security, and access to business class lounges.
At the moment, logging into the ITA Airways website or app will automatically redirect to Miles & More, although new registrations are not yet open. You can still access the old system via a dedicated link, and a screenshot of your membership card is sufficient for the match.
ITA Airways is expected to fully integrate into Miles & More by the end of this month and become a full member of Star Alliance.
