(Free) Dusit Hotel Status Match

The only thing that’s better than a status match is a free status match, and here’s a new one: Thailand’s hotel group Dusit Hotels & Resorts.

• Accepts major programs including Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Accor, IHG and GHA
• You need to have a future Dusit hotel booking
• You’ll receive a response within seven working days after submitting the form
• If approved, the matched status is valid for two years

So it’s not only free, but also comes with a long validity period. As for the hotel booking, it’s hardly a hurdle at all: just make any cancellable reservation.

The exact matching criteria are not disclosed; the page simply states that you’ll be “matched to an equivalent Dusit Gold tier”. Confusingly “Dusit Gold” is just the loyalty program’s name, and they are actually have two elite tiers:

• Gold: usually requires 15 nights; main benefits include welcome amenity, dining discounts, room upgrade and guaranteed 4pm late checkout
• Platinum: usually requires 30 nights; additional benefits include club lounge access and guaranteed 6pm late checkout

Given the inclusion of lounge access, being matched to Platinum would be quite nice.

As for Dusit’s footprint: its home base is Thailand, with around 60 properties across China, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, Maldives, UAE, Qatar and Greece.
