Royal Air Maroc status match offer

Another Oneworld airline, Royal Air Maroc, has launched a new status match offer.

  • Matches to all tiers are allowed: Silver / Gold / Platinum
  • Fees are $149 / $349 / $749
  • Select airline and hotel statuses are accepted
  • Matched status is valid until the end of 2026
  • Includes a complimentary 30-day status booster

Royal Air Maroc offered a status match opportunity back in 2022, and the fee was only €49, so it’s massive price hike this time. There’s a similar program within Oneworld from Royal Jordanian, but that one has strict residency requirements that many readers cannot meet; Royal Air Maroc doesn’t have any residency restrictions, but it’s much more expensive.

Some accepted airlines include:

  • Air Canada 25K → Silver
  • United Premier Silver → Silver
  • Lufthansa Senator → Gold
  • SAS Gold and above → Gold
  • Virgin Atlantic (Silver/Gold match accordingly)
  • Air France KLM (Silver/Gold/Platinum match accordingly)

Note that not all airlines can be matched to Platinum. For hotel statuses, they seem to accept almost anything, for example Marriott and IHG Silver, though the highest you can get is Silver.

Oneworld has fewer airlines than the other two alliances, but their benefits are quite strong. Ruby beats Star Alliance Silver by a mile; Sapphire is roughly equivalent to Star Alliance Gold and SkyTeam Elite Plus already; and Emerald gets you into first-class lounges. If you have a real need and the cost seems acceptable, it could be worth considering – but the application fees really are steep.

The 3x status booster is also worth mentioning: after your status match succeeds, during January 2026 you’ll earn triple status miles when flying Royal Air Maroc. We’ve covered this booster before; normally it costs €198 for 90 days and is practically a requalification cheat code.

For example, one Beijing – Casablanca round-trip in Economy Classic under the status booster offer is enough to requalify for Gold in one trip (35,000 elite miles). Routes like Beijing – Casablanca – Spain sometimes drop to amazingly low fares, though based on what I just checked, it seems there aren’t such deals in January.

You could also make short-haul mileage runs, but unless you’re based in Casablanca, getting enough miles in one month is tough. And note that their mileage earning was recently culled: the cheapest economy and business fares now earn only 50% and 150% (down from 100% and 200%). Check your fare class before booking.

Finally, if I remember correctly, they do have a soft-landing policy which might change the game if you could match to the top-tier Platinum status.
