Mastercard has had many status match promotions with various hotel groups, but most of them require cards issued in Asia Pacific only. There is finally one that seems to work globally.
As you can see from this offer page, certain Mastercard members can request an instant status upgrade with Wyndham hotels:
- World Elite -> Diamond
- World -> Platinum
- Other types -> Gold
To participate, sign up at the dedicated portal before registering your Mastercard, and the offer shall pop up.
Despite what the offer page says, Mastercard issued in many if not all countries are eligible. I used my UK Curve card.
You’ll then generate an unique security code, which is then sent to Wyndham to verify your application. Once validated, the new status will be valid until the end of 2026.
Wyndham is not a popular brand (in the frequent traveller world) and even Diamond doesn’t seem to offer match. But after all, the match is very easy and free.
