To conclude my ITA mileage I’m flying back home on British Airways – I thought about flying ITA Airways and visiting their Milan lounge but the online rewards weren’t promising so I decided to book BA instead whose flight time suited me better.
Unfortunately there’s no Euro Traveller (economy) Avios availability so I had to pay more for Club Europe. To my surprise BA operates its own lounge at Linate so that’s another review post sorted 🙂
BA’s lounge was renovated in 2019 and it still strikes me as very new although five years have passed.
Aside from the entrance, it is hard to see much trace of British Airways in the entire lounge. In other words it is a lot plusher and classier, which makes total sense considering we are in Italy!
I especially love the wine display with the foggy glass in the background.
Menu of the day:
- Green Lasagna Bolognese
- Vegetable cous cous
- Chicken curry
- Vegetable trio
- Bread & Focaccia with oil
The food presentation is dismal and it tastes no better (it’s British cuisine remember), and replenishing is slow. In addition to the hot food there are some salad, sandwiches and fruits up for grabs.
Bottomline: British Airways’ lounge at Milan Linate is beautiful and quiet (only used by BA and IB if I’m not mistaken), but tune your expectation down on food.
