Both IHG and Choice have launched a buying points promotion.

Until February 28th, you’ll get 100% bonus when buying at least X IHG points in one transaction (X might be customised and it’s 11,000 for me). Note that you’ll need to buy at least 26,000 points to get the cheapest unit price, which is 0.5c / 0.4p per point.
I find it more difficult to find good redemptions in Europe now but it’s still pretty easy in Americas and Asia. IHG runs such offers very often, so only purchase if you know where to spend them in the near future.
Tip: Amex classified IHG point purchase as Travel spend, which might be a bonus category for some cards.

Until March 3rd, you’ll get a bonus as such when buying Choice points:
- 6,000 – 13,000 points: 20% off
- 14,000 – 17,000 points: 25% off
- 18,000+ points: 30% off
At the top end you’ll be paying 0.721c / 0.57p per point. It’s not terrible, but Choice had better deals a few months ago (50% bonus / 60% bonus) so again only do it if you have immediate need.
