SLH redesigned their frequent traveller program last year and although the three memberships level remain, their names and benefits have changed significantly. If you may stay at an SLH hotel at some point, there’s now an opportunity to upgrade to their mid tier instantly.
The offer is in partnership with UK’s Harrods Amex card:
- New sign-ups receive the Club 02 status straightaway
- Existing members can submit a request via the customer service email
- The status is valid until the end of next calendar year
Although it’s intended for the Harrods Amex cardholders, anyone appears to be able to take advantage of it. There’s another similar offer for a Japanese bank account holders.
The offer page suggests the promotion ended on 31/12/2024, but I just tried creating a new account and could see the status upgrade immediately. The expiry however is in only one year and I’m not sure if it’s going to be extended manually later.
Club 02 comes with substantial benefits:
- Exclusive bonus rate
- Room upgrade
- Free breakfast
- Free wifi
- Early check-in and late check-out
And there’s a hidden perk: as you can see from the picture above you now need only 9 nights to upgrade to Club 03 instead of the regular 13 nights. Once you’ve reached Club 03 you’ll be gifted a $300 night voucher to use towards a future stay.
With the deepened partnership between Hilton and SLH, people are getting more and more familiar with the latter. I assume however, that most of us will be booking using Hilton points and I don’t think you can have SLH membership on those reservations.
If you book direct, or with a Preferred travel agency like Badazhou the membership should work, and I hope to hear people’s experiences!
Hi, Kai. Must we have the mentioned card to get upgraded to Club O2?
Or is there any short cut for those who does not own the cards?
Nope, just sign up using the link
Thanks, Kai!
Thank you. Worked for me.
Just a word of caution based on my experience that booking via SLH is often more expensive than booking directly via the specific property’s website. In any case, it’s always a good idea to compare rates. Also, I’ve experienced poor customer service via SLH and find their previous and revampled loyalty program to be subpar compared to other options out there. For these reasons, I’ll continue to avoid SLH’s program.
typo: revamped
Thanks. I might book an SLH using Hilton points at some point, and the benefits will be quite similar anyway
