800 bonus Cathay miles for earning with travel partners

Cathay Pacific has launched a year-end promotion, where you can earn a small bonus relatively easily.

• Register by submitting a form
• Promotion period: November 11 to January 6
• Earn with two travel partners to get 800 bonus miles

Note that it must be partners from the specific list. For example:

• Accor: 4,000 points to 2,000 miles
• IHG: 10,000 points to 2,000 miles
• Hilton: 10,000 points to 1,000 miles
• Marriott: 1,000 points to 333 miles
• Badazhou: 5,000 points to 300 miles (with 50% bonus between 01/12 and 08/12)

Although Cathay’s offer doesn’t appear to have a minimum requirement, they are usually in place when you transfer points. From what I see there’s no arbitrage opportunity here. You can however, opt for earn Cathay miles directly when staying at hotels, and that might make more sense.
