Etihad flash sale: Hanoi – Abu Dhabi, $99 economy or $499 business

Thanks to reader @Tony for the tip, Etihad Airways seems to have an interesting deal (or possibly an error fare), so let’s take a look.

• Route: Hanoi – Abu Dhabi
• One-way only
• Available on select dates in November
• Economy Class: $99
• Business Class: $499

The main limitation is that the deal is only available in November, but there are still quite a few dates to choose from (verify with Google Flights). You can book directly on Etihad’s website, or use platforms like Skyscanner to find travel agencies offering slightly cheaper prices – as low as £64 for economy and £340 for business class.

The flight is operated by Boeing 787, and I’ve flown Etihad’s business class before; it was an excellent experience.

Before you book, check the fare rules carefully: Etihad’s lowest economy fare doesn’t include checked baggage, while the cheapest business fare doesn’t include free seat selection or lounge access. For a few dozen dollars more, you can upgrade to Business Comfort, which includes seat selection, lounge access, and even chauffeur service in Abu Dhabi.

As for mileage earning: apart from Etihad Guest, you can also credit miles to SAS, American Airlines, Air Canada, or Hainan Airlines.
