Club Avolta might sound new to you, but it’s just a recent rebranding from Red by Dufry, a loyalty program by the international duty free company Dufry.
Members get up to 10% off at their duty free shops, mainly at European airports, and earn Avios on your purchase. You can also buy Dragonpass lounge passes at $28 (used to be $10), plus access a couple of airport lounges (for example Aspire Lounge at Zurich) for free if you have Platinum status.
You can now match to Club Avolta’s highest level Platinum at no cost. It is open to middle-tier and top-tier members of numerous hotel and airline programs. For example, you are eligible as long as you hold the Gold card from Hilton, IHG, Marriott or Accor.
You should receive 5,000 status points within a few hours after submitting your application, enough to upgrade you to Platinum. In theory you need to make at least one transaction per year to maintain your Platinum status, although in practice they appear to rarely downgrade membership.
Even better, it appears that a match from Club Avolta to Radisson Hotels is in the works:
- Club Avolta Gold receives Radisson Premium
- Club Avolta Platinum receives Radisson VIP
Radisson had a glitch a few months ago where many people got their top VIP status. VIP benefits are substantial, including heavy rate discount, free breakfast, lounge access and room upgrade.
Do you have a list of which lounges are free as a Platinum member? Thanks
Zurich might be the only one at the moment
Can you please send me the link for the page for the free lounge access in ZRH? Thank you.
