As a reminder:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>There will be five hotel categories in the new program, staircasing by 15,000 points<\/li><li>The minimum points required for a free night increases from 9,000 points to 15,000 points<\/li><li>The maximum points required for a free night increases from 70,000 points to 75,000 points<\/li><li>Family Room and Premium Room redemption are kept<\/li><li>A new scheme called\u00a0<strong>RewardSaver\u00a0<\/strong>will be introduced where a 1\/3 discount is applied when redeeming certain hotels at off-peak season, similar to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/pointsavers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Marriott\u2019s PointSaver<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/radisson-americas-hotel-categories.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/radisson-americas-hotel-categories.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9793\" width=\"500\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/radisson-americas-hotel-categories.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/radisson-americas-hotel-categories-300x142.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/radisson-americas-hotel-categories-768x363.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>You can see the new category and point requirement for all hotels (excluding Americas)<a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/radisson-category-change-pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> in the pdf here<\/a>. It may not be a devaluation as you&#8217;d think though, because:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>London is the worst hit city on the list; however there&#8217;s no London hotel worth spending your points on already from my point of view, so it really doesn&#8217;t matter if they hike up the price further<\/li><li>There will be two hotels at 15,000 points, which is an improvement<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/radisson-blu-cardiff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Radisson Blu Cardiff<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/park-inn-york\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Park Inn York<\/a> are both reducing the point requirement, which is great news as both cities can be very expensive during peak seasons<\/li><li>The same is true for the two hotels in Edinburgh, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/radisson-collection-edinburgh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Radisson Collection Royal Mile<\/a>, although my stay there was very underwhelming<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And here are some hotels worldwide that I find may be worth checking out:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/radisson-category-change-other.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/radisson-category-change-other.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9801\" width=\"600\" height=\"259\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/radisson-category-change-other.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/radisson-category-change-other-300x129.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/radisson-category-change-other-768x331.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s a very short list as it was very difficult going through their lengthy list. The biggest winner appears to be Bangkok, as all three 28,000-point hotels are joining the 15,000-point league which is almost 50%-off reduction. Although I didn&#8217;t dig too much, I believe it&#8217;s bad news for India travellers as the majority of the 9000-point hotels are in that country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the hotels you intend to redeem will go up in price, remember to lock in your award nights now.
