It has very strong presence in the majority of Europe and Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/03\/accor-live-limitless.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4477\" width=\"375\" height=\"158\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/03\/accor-live-limitless.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/03\/accor-live-limitless-300x127.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Accor has been very busy with acquisition and strategic collaboration in recent years, and as a result it&#8217;s incorporated many new brands into its system. Marriott Bonvoy has a total of 30 brands after the purchase of Starwood, but as a comparison, Accor has <strong>39<\/strong> brands as of today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main brands are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Luxury<\/strong>: Banyan Tree, Raffles, Fairmont<\/li><li><strong>Upscale<\/strong>: Sofitel, MGallery, Pullman, Swissotel, Movenpick<\/li><li><strong>Midscale<\/strong>: Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure<\/li><li><strong>Budget<\/strong>: Ibis, Ibis Styles, Ibis Budget<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can see how Accor used to be very weak in the top-end market &#8211; all brands in the Luxury spectrum were acquired or tied in lately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accor&#8217;s loyalty program is called <em>Accor Live Limitless<\/em> (sounds weird to me), or in short, just <em>ALL<\/em>. Note that not all <a href=\"https:\/\/all.accor.com\/gb\/brands\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">brands listed on their website<\/a> are <em>ALL<\/em> participating. For example, you don&#8217;t earn any points \/ benefits at any Ibis Budget hotel worldwide, nor in any Ibis hotel in mainland China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[Membership Tiers and Benefits]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/06\/accor-live-limitless-membership-levels.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/06\/accor-live-limitless-membership-levels-1024x598.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-560\" width=\"256\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/06\/accor-live-limitless-membership-levels-1024x598.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/06\/accor-live-limitless-membership-levels-300x175.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/06\/accor-live-limitless-membership-levels-768x449.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/06\/accor-live-limitless-membership-levels-1320x771.jpg 1320w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/06\/accor-live-limitless-membership-levels.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 256px) 100vw, 256px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Accor Live Limitless has the following six membership tiers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Classic<\/span><\/strong>: entry level, free internet when booking direct<\/li><li><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-pale-cyan-blue-color\">Silver<\/span><\/strong>: 10 nights or \u20ac800 spend; benefits include 24% bonus points, welcome drinks and late check-out<\/li><li><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Gold<\/span><\/strong>: 30 nights or \u20ac2800 spend; additional benefits include 48% bonus points in lieu, room upgrade and early check-in <\/li><li><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color\">Platinum<\/span><\/strong>: 60 nights or \u20ac5600 spend; additional benefits include 76% bonus points in lieu, executive lounge access (except at Fairmont) and free breakfast in Asia Pacific<\/li><li><strong><span style=\"color:#c1cbd0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Diamond<\/span><\/strong>: \u20ac10400 spend; additional benefits include free breakfast at weekends worldwide, four \u20ac25 vouchers, and gifting a Gold card<\/li><li><strong>Limitless<\/strong>: invitation only; concierge service and gifting a Platinum card<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus a few other benefits such as suite upgrade voucher, F&amp;B discount and free mini-bar, varying by brand. <a href=\"https:\/\/all.accor.com\/loyalty-program\/cards-status-benefits-details\/index.en.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Please refer to this page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compared to the other major players, Accor&#8217;s elite benefits are not very competitive. Diamond members, which is the highest publicised level, can only expect free breakfast at weekends after contributing more than ten thousand euro. And don&#8217;t get me started on the four 25-euro vouchers&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Platinum members gain complimentary access to executive lounges, which sounds nice, but there are very few hotels that even feature one. Correct me if I&#8217;m wrong, but I don&#8217;t think any Accor hotel in France has an executive lounge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a different story in Asia though. Platinum members are guaranteed free breakfast any day of the week, and a lot of mid- or high-tier hotels do have executive lounges where you can enjoy complimentary drinks and dinner buffet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is also a paid program in Asia Pacific, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accorplus.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">namely Accor Plus<\/a>, which offers very good food and drinks discount at Accor hotels, as well as special room rates that can represent great savings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/10\/accor-plus.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/10\/accor-plus.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6242\" width=\"311\" height=\"53\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/10\/accor-plus.png 414w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/10\/accor-plus-300x51.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 311px) 100vw, 311px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Also in Asia Pacific, there is a special scheme called <a href=\"https:\/\/all.accor.com\/loyalty-program\/cards-status-benefits\/myresorts\/index.en.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MyResorts<\/a> at resort hotels. This includes what you originally pay for the room, and also food &amp; drinks and other incidentals charged to the room. Note that the earning rate is discounted at budget \/ apartment brands such as Adagio and Ibis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we mentioned earlier, not all hotels bookable on Accor&#8217;s website are <em>ALL<\/em> participating. Every 2000 points can be turned into \u20ac40, and you can convert at the time of booking, or upon hotel check-out. For the latter, you may suffer an exchange rate loss though if the hotel&#8217;s currency is not Euro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The advantage of Accor&#8217;s system is simplicity. You should use your points whenever you can, without calculating how much worth you&#8217;ll get out of your points. Points can be redeemed against most rates, and all room types &#8211; I know many people from other hotel programs complain about the lack of opportunity to use points against premium room types.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, simplicity may also mean dullness, as you can never get excited from the exceptional use of your points. With the points of other hotel schemes, it cost me \u00a320 for one night at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hilton.com\/en\/hotels\/dpsjagi-hilton-garden-inn-bali-ngurah-rai-airport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hilton Garden Inn Bali<\/a>, \u00a3150 for New Year&#8217;s Eve at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihg.com\/destinations\/gb\/en\/united-kingdom\/london-hotels\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Holiday Inn London Mayfair<\/a>, and \u00a3400 for a luxurious suite at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marriott.com\/hotels\/travel\/nycxr-the-st-regis-new-york\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">St Regis New York<\/a>. None of these is possible within Accor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/st-regis-new-york-corridor.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/st-regis-new-york-corridor-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4725\" width=\"256\" height=\"192\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/st-regis-new-york-corridor-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/st-regis-new-york-corridor-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/st-regis-new-york-corridor-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/04\/st-regis-new-york-corridor.jpg 1190w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 256px) 100vw, 256px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>You can convert Accor points into airline miles, but most of the time it is a bad deal. <a href=\"https:\/\/all.accor.com\/loyalty-program\/partners\/airfranceklm\/index.en.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Accor has a reciprocal program with Flying Blue though<\/a>, meaning that you can earn Accor points when flying KLM \/ Air France, and earn Flying Blue miles when staying at Accor hotels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also convert Accor points into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bahn.de\/p\/view\/bahncard\/bahnbonus\/bahnbonus.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Deutsche Bahn points<\/a>, then exchange for DB, TGV or even Eurostar train tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[Promotions]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best part about Accor is how frequent it runs sales and promotions &#8211; actually I don&#8217;t think you can find any other hotel chain that matches them. It usually runs the following large-scale sales:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Super Sale &#8211; two or three times a year and covers (almost) everywhere. You are likely to get 40% or 50% off, sometimes with free breakfast included<\/li><li>Private Sales &#8211; updated weekly on Tuesdays but not available all the time. Covers different countries each week, and the discount can be as good as 50%<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.accorplus.com\/en\/offer?redhotrooms=on\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Red Hot Rooms<\/a> &#8211; Accor Plus in Asia Pacific only, the list updates regularly and may include very nice deals<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/06\/2016-june-accor-supersale.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/06\/2016-june-accor-supersale.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1427\" width=\"375\" height=\"124\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/06\/2016-june-accor-supersale.png 500w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/06\/2016-june-accor-supersale-300x99.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding bonus point promotions, the most classic one is &#8220;stay three times earn 6000 points&#8221;. There are very often region-specific promotions too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[Summary]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accor was my favourite hotel chain once, back in the days when I was gifted Platinum as an Amex Platinum cardholder, and there were insane Happy Monday deals in the UK every week. Unfortunately this is not the case anymore, and it is generally agreed that they have the worst customer care amongst all major hotel chains, so I&#8217;m no longer keen to stay with them. However, if you are not too bothered with loyalty programs, and just want heavily discounted rates, Accor may be the right choice for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Accor hotel group is headquartered in France, and owns more than 5,000 hotels in the world.
