For example, Marriott Titanium Elite members, a surprisingly large group these days, can receive complimentary United MileagePlus Premier Silver status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another feature of the partnership is the occasional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/marriott-united-dual\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Dual Currency promotion<\/a>, which awards bonus points and miles for both hotel stays and flights. Right on schedule, this year&#8217;s promotion has returned almost exactly one year after the last edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/marriott-united-dual\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">The promotion is called Dual Currency<\/a> and is available to members enrolled in Marriott Bonvoy and United&#8217;s RewardsPlus programme. To be eligible, you must hold <strong>one of<\/strong> the following statuses:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite or Ambassador Elite<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>United MileagePlus Premier Gold, Premier Platinum, or Premier 1K<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/10\/marriott-united-dual-currency.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"304\" src=\"http:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/10\/marriott-united-dual-currency.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16927\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/10\/marriott-united-dual-currency.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/10\/marriott-united-dual-currency-300x182.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year&#8217;s promotion has changed quite a bit from previous editions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you haven&#8217;t already, you&#8217;ll first need to link your Marriott Bonvoy and United MileagePlus accounts. Then:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Promotion period: 15 July \u2013 30 September<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Earn 1,500 United MileagePlus miles and 2,000 Marriott Bonvoy points for each qualifying booking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One qualifying booking consists of one qualifying hotel stay plus one qualifying flight booking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both the hotel stay and the flight must be paid bookings. Award stays and award tickets do not qualify. It&#8217;s also not entirely clear whether the flight requirement is measured by booking reference or by individual flight segments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One important point: there&#8217;s no need to change your earning preference. The bonus miles and points will post automatically. In fact, if you&#8217;ve switched your Marriott earning preference to United miles instead of Bonvoy points, you won&#8217;t trigger the promotion at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the rewards are considerably more generous than before, the requirement to complete both a hotel stay and a flight makes this year&#8217;s promotion much harder to maximise.
