It turns out however, that there&#8217;s also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cathaypacific.com\/content\/dam\/cx\/digital-library\/eur\/pdf\/2026_UK_Payments_Bonus_Campaign_TnCs.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">a UK-exclusive promotion<\/a> that is much more interesting. Until 8 July, you&#8217;ll receive a 10% bonus when transferring points from eligible UK banking partners to Cathay Pacific:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>American Express<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>HSBC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yonder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There doesn&#8217;t appear to be a cap on the bonus. The extra miles will be credited within 10 weeks after the promotion ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Transfer bonuses from UK banks are relatively rare, so this is worth considering if you were already planning to move your points to Cathay. In terms of HSBC you can transfer as little as just one point, which is quite handy to trigger Cathay&#8217;s promotions, when there are any.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/accor-gold.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"736\" height=\"462\" src=\"http:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/accor-gold.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12309\" style=\"width:400px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/accor-gold.jpg 736w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/accor-gold-300x188.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 736px) 100vw, 736px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, Amex UK teamed up with Accor lately with the latter becoming a Membership Rewards transfer partner. In the latest development, Amex Platinum cardholders will now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanexpress.com\/en-gb\/benefits\/travel\/hotels\/the-platinum-card\/all-accor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">get complimentary Accor <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Gold <\/mark><\/strong>status<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Back in the days when Accor was giving it away to virtually everyone, Platinum status was once part of the Amex Platinum package. Accor Platinum has gained substantially more value since then (although mostly in Asia Pacific, admittedly), so it&#8217;s unsurprising that the deal has now downgraded to Gold only. It seems that Centurion cardholders will get Platinum instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comparable to Marriott Gold, Accor Gold comes with room upgrade, early check-in \/ late check-out (all subject to availability) and a welcome drink. The most meaningful benefit is complimentary breakfast for one person in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don&#8217;t think you&#8217;ll get status nights from the deal so it&#8217;s not helpful in the fast-track-to-Platinum sense.
