Silver is cheap but useless, while Gold at \u20ac199 isn\u2019t outrageous, though not exactly a bargain either. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of eligible programs is limited, but the qualification bar isn\u2019t too high. For Gold status, the minimum requirements are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>British Airways Silver<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Iberia Ora<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Air France \/ KLM Gold<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finnair Gold<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>American Airlines Platinum<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delta Airlines Gold<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Royal Air Maroc Gold<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aer Lingus Platinum<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Air Europa Gold<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LATAM Platinum<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>WestJet Gold<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>JetBlue Mosaic 2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>TAP\u2019s Gold corresponds to Star Alliance Gold, which grants priority check-in and boarding, extra baggage allowance, fast-track security, and business lounge access on member airlines (such as the Lufthansa Group, Air China, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, ANA, Turkish Airlines and United).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SAS<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>SAS Eurobonus is adjusting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flysas.com\/en\/eurobonus\/points\/fly-with-points\/point-chart\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">their award chart<\/a> on December 1, the changes being (one-way):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Long-haul premium economy: 40k -> 45k<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Long-haul business: 50k -> 60k<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The increase is much more significant for redeeming partner flights, although from what I see only business class is affected. For example (return):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Domestic: 30k -> 40k<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intra &#8211; Europe: 60k -> 80k<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Europe &#8211; North America: 130k -> 140k<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Europe &#8211; Asia: 165k -> 180k<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>North America &#8211; South America: 90k -> 100k<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>North America &#8211; Asia: 165k -> 180k<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For one-way partner redemption you pay 60% of the price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SAS points&#8217; best value is in redeeming their own long-haul business tickets, as the rate is very reasonable, plus they are one of, if not the only European frequent flyer program that don&#8217;t impose any surcharge on award tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SAS&#8217;s long-haul business is still a bargain even after the devaluation.
