There had already been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/2025\/08\/21\/choice-hotels-devaluation-in-northern-europe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">some small increases in August<\/a>, but now it\u2019s widespread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first major casualty is, without question, the Strawberry group in the Nordic region. The most shocking is Sommero House, which has literally tripled in cost; but too be honest, 12,000 points for such a lovely hotel was too good to be true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second major hit, as you might guess, is Japan:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tokyo Comfort Inn Roppongi 8,000 \u2192 15,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tokyo Comfort Hotel Kanda 8,000 \u2192 10,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tokyo Comfort Hotel Higashi Nihombashi 10,000 \u2192 12,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tokyo Comfort Hotel Kiyosumi Shirakawa 10,000 \u2192 12,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems that only Tokyo properties are affected, where the value proposition has basically disappeared.
