Due to the recent major changes, I decided to leave the British Airways Executive Club and start collecting points with Iberia Plus instead. One of the advantages of Iberia\u2019s program<\/a> is that there are ways to earn Elite Points without flying – although, unless you live in Spain, the options are quite limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a great wine promotion<\/a> recently, but unfortunately they didn\u2019t ship to the UK. Iberia Plus also has an online shopping portal, Club Iberia Store<\/a>, but again it\u2019s heavily geared towards the Spanish market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From what I can see, there are two main exceptions. The first is Agoda, which is currently offering 10 Avios per euro, a pretty handy deal if you usually book hotels through OTAs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other, and arguably more fun, is NordVPN<\/a>, which is offering a whopping 70 Avios per euro for new customers! Remember that you earn 1 Elite Point for every 10 Avios collected, making this an excellent rate if you\u2019re chasing higher Iberia status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I made a test purchase myself, and it tracked almost instantly (I paid in GBP, which was the default currency offered).<\/p>\n\n\n

Hopefully it all clears properly and I\u2019m one step closer to Oro status. Realistically, the only time I ever need a VPN is when travelling to China<\/a>, and NordVPN doesn\u2019t really work there.
