Although it claims to be targeted, everyone whose account address isn&#8217;t in Hong Kong should be able to sign up successfully and it didn&#8217;t take long for my confirmation email to arrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many tasks to accomplish and I&#8217;m not going to paste all of them here. These are the first three ones:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Registration reward: Upon registering for the promotion, members will receive a one-off USD10 Cathay Shop e-voucher.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Goal 1: Members will receive a one-off bonus of\u00a0300 miles upon completing two eligible miles-earning or spending transactions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Goal 2: Members will receive a one-off bonus of\u00a01,000 miles upon completing eligible miles-earning or spending transactions across two or more categories.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For simply registering for the offer you earn a voucher to use in<a href=\"https:\/\/lifestyle.asiamiles.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\"> their merchandise shop<\/a>. As you can imagine $10 won&#8217;t go far though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As far as I understand, almost all earning and spending activities are eligible except transactions on their e-shop portal. The easiest thing to do is probably point transfer, for example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1,000 Amex points = 1,000 Cathay miles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1,000 Marriott points = 333 Cathay miles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As these are two transactions from two categories, you earn 300+1000 bonus miles as well<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Which means you end up with 2,633 miles which isn&#8217;t too shabby considering the &#8220;cost&#8221;.
