Specifically, Marriott Ambassador and Titanium members receive an instant upgrade to Air Canada&#8217;s 25K elite status (Star Alliance <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color\">Silver<\/mark><\/strong>), which has some practical perks if you fly with the airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What I didn&#8217;t know was, there are so-called Select Benefits that come with the 25K status, even though it&#8217;s a &#8220;free&#8221; matched status.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/air-canada-25k-select-benefits.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"577\" src=\"http:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/air-canada-25k-select-benefits-1024x577.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21419\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/air-canada-25k-select-benefits-1024x577.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/air-canada-25k-select-benefits-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/air-canada-25k-select-benefits-768x433.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/air-canada-25k-select-benefits-520x292.jpg 520w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/air-canada-25k-select-benefits-1320x744.jpg 1320w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/air-canada-25k-select-benefits.jpg 1336w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>You can choose 2 out of the 3 options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5 eUpgrade Credits (you should have received 20 already with the 25K upgrade)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>25% bonus points when crediting Air Canada, United, Copa and the LH Group flights<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 Maple Leaf lounge passes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Air Canada&#8217;s eUpgrade system looks quite complicated (<a href=\"https:\/\/princeoftravel.com\/guides\/air-canada-eupgrades\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">I found a guide here<\/a>) but on paper 25 credits is enough to upgrade a long-haul flight, although it&#8217;s subject to standby clearance. The lounge passes can only be used in North America when you fly Air Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main practical option, for those of us who are not America-based, is probably 25% bonus points, as it applies to a few partner airlines as well. Their loyalty program &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/2022\/11\/03\/aeroplan-the-best-flight-redemption-between-uk-europe-and-middle-east\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Aeroplan: the best flight redemption between UK \/ Europe and Middle East\">Aeroplan<\/a> &#8211; is very powerful and has many sweet spots for burning points.
