They <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/2024\/09\/14\/virgin-atlantic-sale-25-off-reward-flights-and-50-coupon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Virgin Atlantic sale: 25% off rewards, Shanghai error fare and \u00a350\">had a Shanghai error fare<\/a> last month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/2024\/10\/16\/virgin-atlantic-unloaded-many-dxb-jfk-etc-award-seats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Virgin Atlantic unloaded many (DXB \/ JFK etc) award seats\">released loads of award seats<\/a> a couple of days ago, and our reader @ZZ spotted another very interesting pricing error.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Routes: Germany &#8211; South America<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Airlines: KLM, Air France<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Price: 42,000 points in business class per way<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>KLM and Air France fly to Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich etc in Germany, and to Bogota, Lima, Santiago, Sao Paolo, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires etc in South America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>42K points is no doubt a steal for such a long flight, but unfortunately fees are pretty high at over \u20ac\/$500:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>(EDIT: as pointed out by a reader ex-Lima flight has a low $80 tax which is also very decent.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is what we call a true bargain, and a return would cost just 84,000 points + $258. I called Air France to add my ITA Executive membership number and then was able to choose the seat for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interestingly, the ticket is issued in O class, which credits up to 100% into a few programs including Delta and Malaysian Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are swayed, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/points-virgin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Virgin Atlantic currently has an offer on buying points<\/a>: buy at least 100,000 points in one transaction and you&#8217;ll earn 70% bonus points.
