What we didn&#8217;t know is the bonus is tiered, and you need to earn 40K miles in the promotional period to get 30% bonus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, there are two airlines that have just started offering similar deals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[Air Canada]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you convert Marriott points to Air Canada&#8217;s Aeroplan program by October 31, you&#8217;ll earn 15% bonus on your Aeroplan points.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/marriott-bonvoy-aeroplan.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"251\" src=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/marriott-bonvoy-aeroplan.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20855\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/marriott-bonvoy-aeroplan.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/marriott-bonvoy-aeroplan-300x151.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Unlike United, Air Canada has given a very clear example: if you transfer 60,000 Marriott points, you&#8217;ll earn 20,000 + 3,000 points + 5,000 points = 28,000 points in total, i.e. the ordinary 5,000 bonus points will not attract an additional bonus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aeroplan is one of my favourite airline programs and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/2022\/11\/03\/aeroplan-the-best-flight-redemption-between-uk-europe-and-middle-east\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Aeroplan: the best flight redemption between UK \/ Europe and Middle East\">I&#8217;ve written a post about it<\/a>. If you are not based in North America it&#8217;s usually not easy to accrue their points, making this Marriott offer a rare good opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>[Etihad]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also in October, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etihadguest.com\/en\/earn-miles\/transfer-points-to-miles-global.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">you&#8217;ll get bonus miles<\/a> when converting from select partners to Etihad Guest:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1,000 &#8211; 9,999 miles: 20% bonus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10,000 &#8211; 49,999 miles: 30% bonus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>50,000 miles and above: 40% bonus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike United, the bonus is determined by the amount of each transaction, rather than the cumulative amount in the whole period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some participating partners are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IHG<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shangri-la<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Citibank<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ping An<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The hotel ones have poor transfer ratio even with 40% bonus. Citibank on the other hand could be a viable option if you are based in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ping An, a Chinese program, is actually the most interesting option as you could effectively buy Etihad miles at 0.81p under this promotion. Unfortunately you must have a Chinese mobile number and speak Chinese to take advantage of it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Honestly I&#8217;ve lost track of Etihad&#8217;s Guest program since their revamping and can&#8217;t comment whether there are still good-value redemptions. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verylvke.com\/en\/2022\/10\/22\/how-to-redeem-etihad-guest-miles-on-air-serbia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"How to redeem Etihad Guest miles on Air Serbia\">The pricing for Air Serbia<\/a> however seems to have remain unchanged, and could be a cheap way to travel to Belgrade.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we&#8217;ve previewed a few days back, United&#8217;s conversion bonus offer is live.
