The SLH group broke up with Hyatt in 2024 and joined partnership with Hilton instead<\/a>, opening up a new world of opportunities to spending Hilton points. A considerable number of SLH hotels are already part of the Hilton program, and the list keeps changing. This post will try to summarise the best-value SLH redemptions using Hilton points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Foxhill Manor<\/a> 100,000 points, UK<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UK benefits a lot from the integration, as SLH adds a large portfolio in the suburban areas where Hilton has no footprint at all. Unfortunately, as someone who doesn’t drive or enjoy countryside breaks, most of these hotels are not for me.<\/p>\n\n\n

In terms of value per point, the winner is probably Foxhill Manor in the Cotswold. The photos look nice but honestly I don’t understand how they justify the \u00a3800 cash rate – I’ve got friends who’ve stayed there and the only comment they gave me was “old money”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First up we have two hotels on the Alps, both all-inclusive<\/strong>. There will be great views and plentiful of outdoor activities to take, or you can just stay in the spa and chill. As they are on the mountains, getting there might be the most difficult part especially if you don’t drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I used to study in Switzerland for a couple of years and although I didn’t like living there, it is still the most beautiful country that I’ve seen so far and out of their many cities Lugano impressed me the most. At The View, you can book a Junior Suite with the same 130k points which would set you back over 1,000 CHF in cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Grand Bellevue at Gstaad is even more interesting. It opens seasonally in the summer and winter only, and in the winter it even offers complimentary half-board<\/strong> to all guests!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hotel TwentySeven<\/a> 110,000 points, Netherlands<\/p>\n\n\n

Hotel 27 is one of the most renowned hotels in Amsterdam and more expensive than the Waldorf Astoria. The entry-level room is a Junior Suite at 40 sqm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lumiares Hotel & Spa<\/a>\u00a095,000 points, Portugal<\/p>\n\n\n

Lisbon is a sweet spot for SLH redemptions, as most hotels are priced between 50K and 60K which is more than reasonable compared to the cash rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m singling out The Lumiares because it’s got a five-star rating on TripAdvisor, and the entry-level room is a one-bedroom suite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hotel Gajoen Tokyo<\/a>, 110,000 points, Japan<\/p>\n\n\n

Hotel Gajoen is an all-suite hotel in Tokyo. The entry “rooms” measure 70 sqm which is exceptionally generous for Japan’s capital city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hotel features an executive lounge and the benefits are extended to Hilton Diamond members. Food and drinks are offered continuously throughout the day from 11.30am to 10pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Traumatised” by my cross-country hiking experience in Switzerland I’m not a big fan of skiing myself, but if you are and you’ve thought about skiing in Asia then you should have heard of Niseko Village, a very famous resort in Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a Hilton hotel in the village and now two SLH options have also emerged. Kasara, as you can tell from its name, is a townhouse hotel and the entry-level “room” accommodates six <\/strong>guests, making the redemption exceptionally generous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hinode on the other hand is more economical for solo and duo travellers. For 70k points you can also book a 70 sqm one-bedroom apartment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Velassaru and Milaidhoo include speedboat \/ seaplane transfer in their bookings, saving you some money. Milaidhoo used to offer half-board as well but it’s no longer the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milaidhoo is an (almost) adult-only island known for their white-sand beach. Velassaru is more affordable and has beautiful lagoons. Villa Haven Resort is brand new, but being adjacent to a resident island makes it much less exclusive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cape Fahn<\/a>, 80,000 points, Thailand<\/p>\n\n\n

If you are looking for something posher than Bali but not as exclusive as Maldives, Koh Samui in Thailand could be an option. The Cape Fahn hotel is located on a detached isle, a very unique character not shared by any other hotel on the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With 80,000 points you are booked into a 300 sqm Tropical Pool Villa. All guests receive complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea and snacks. They also provide free airport transfer for bookings of two nights or more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viceroy Bali<\/a> 105,000 points, Indonesia<\/p>\n\n\n

Bali is a popular destination for Asian and Australian tourists. I had a good time there in 2018 and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and Hilton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Viceroy you can book a 150 sqm Terrace Pool Villa which is the main selling point. There used to be a Spa Village hotel that was all-inclusive for 40,000 points, but it didn’t last long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Namia River Retreat<\/a> 90,000 points, Vietnam<\/p>\n\n\n

Vietnam is not as popular as the other Southeast Asian tourist destinations but that could be an advantage, showcasing a more original and unique travel experience. I loved the food when travelling there for business years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This resort hotel is in Hoi An, a historical town in Vietnam’s midland. Many tourists visiting Da Nang choose to spend a day or two in Hoi An as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qiushui Villa<\/a> 150,000 points, China<\/p>\n\n\n

Built in the 1930s, Qiushui Villa is THE best hotel in China. The hotel has only 12 suites, each following a very unique design concept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beware that bookings a non-cancellable. You can however request an approval from the hotel and then tell Hilton to cancel your reservation, which usually isn’t an issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eichardt\u2019s Private Hotel<\/a> 130,000 points, New Zealand<\/p>\n\n\n

A historic and scenic site in Queenstown, Eichardt’s is an all-suite boutique hotel with only seven suites. You probably have to plan very far in advance to find availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hermitage Bay<\/a> 150,000 points, Antigua<\/p>\n\n\n

I didn’t research much about the Americas or Caribbean as I don’t travel there often. The Hermitage Bay however is absolutely worth a mention as they look after the guests so well. Three daily meals is only the very basic – they provide afternoon tea, canapes, alcoholic drinks, exercises, water sports, and airport meet and greet all for free!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Availability is very scarce, and minimum three-night stay is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South Bank<\/a>\u00a0130,000 points, Turks and Caicos Islands<\/p>\n\n\n

Turks and Caicos Islands is another less known country in the Caribbean. At the South Bank hotel, you can book a 157-sqm two-bedroom apartment for 130K points, accommodating four guests!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Calala Island<\/a>, 150,000 points, Nicaragua<\/p>\n\n\n

Occupying a private island, Calala is a castaway destination in the Nicaraguan Caribbean. It is almost truly “private” in that it has a total of four guest rooms: three Junior Suites (bookable using points) and one Master Suite. In other words, award availability is extremely rare and three-night minimum stay is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
